Brown Town Reviews:
Dead Letter Circus / / Aesthesis

Now, listeners! Analysing a Dead Letter Circus album is no easy task, let me tell you.

Acoustic beginnings, wide atmospheres. Expressing the love that we have for each other, and the love we have for desire. Like a line or rod out to sea, these guys already have you in a body lock of ecstasy.

Then the Anthems start, reflecting addictions we have for spending our time here on this planet listening to this type of music.

Some very laid back beats but as usual, DLC take every layer further and further out into a dimension picturesque of slow, winding voids that lead into the dark area of the human psyche.

Some of the material has a cut throat beat and with subtleties, the vocalist gets his projections all spot on. Some real nice synth lines and textures are plentyful with some shallow sections as with the upbeat ones.

GOOOOD BRIDGE in The Burning Number (2:40 – 3:00) has a very soothing vibrational effect on the soul, I must say.

Choir vocals, really soft melodies, Aesthesis really stands out as a broad ranged album, the highest of highs, the lowest of lows. Soothing, shooting and keeping you on your feet with some haunting and eerie vocals.

This band has qualities with standards as high as Pink Floyd, Massive Attack and Nine Inch Nails when it comes to the need of connecting with the people who listen.

9.1 out of 10.

Summary

This is my first review in my new place, feels so good to be free of living with family, right?
