Following last year’s Hottest 100 victory with ‘Riptide’, Vance Joy followed up the success this year with three songs making it into the countdown – ‘Mess Is Mine’ at #13, ‘First Time’ at #50 and ‘Georgia’ at #93.
His acclaimed and loved debut album, Dream Your Life Away, is now gold locally, with lead single ‘Riptide’ 5x platinum and ‘Mess Is Mine’ also closing in on platinum status.
Internationally, he continues to win over fans daily. In the US ‘Riptide’ is now platinum (having sold over 1 million units) and sitting at #31 in the Billboard Hot 100, whilst ‘Mess Is Mine’ has begun its journey to the upper echelons of the charts, already in alternative radio’s Top 20. In Canada, ‘Riptide’ is now 2x platinum, with Dream Your Life Away certified gold. These achievements add to a long and rapidly growing list – ‘Riptide’ is certified 3x platinum in Sweden, 2x platinum in Ireland, platinum in Norway and gold in Austria, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
Vance Joy’s shows in March will be the only opportunity for local fans to see him perform his own headline concerts this year. Though he will return at year’s end as main support at Taylor Swift’s stadium shows, after performing with her for the duration of her North American tour dates from May.
