After a Chart Re-Run in the USA, Tame Impala’s third album “Currents” has now been confirmed as #4 album debut on the Billboard Top 200 instead of #7 as first registered. This outstanding result claims Tame Impala the highest album debut for an Australian artist in 2015 on the Billboard Top 200.

Tame Impala’s third album “Currents” has debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album chart this week, giving the Perth band their first #1 debut in Australia. Previous albums, the award winning “Lonerism”(2012) and debut “Innerspeaker” (2010) both debuted #4 on the ARIA Album Charts.

“Currents” has achieved astounding album chart debuts this week world-wide – #3 in the UK, now #4 in the US, #7 in NZ, #11 in both Belgium and France and the top spot in the Netherlands.

Tame Impala celebrated their chart success with a killer set at Splendour In The Grass Festival where new songs “Let It Happen”, “The Less I Know The Better” and “The Moment” were performed live in Australia for the first time.

“Currents” first grabbed the attention of the world in March when the 7.48 min epic track “Let It Happen” was unveiled by Kevin Parker on the band’s website. The global frenzy continued when singles “Eventually”, “Cause I’m A Man” and “Disciples” were made available causing great anticipation for the album amongst fans and media.  Coming soon will be a brand new video for “Let It Happen” which will surely delight fans all over the globe.
